This is a 6 ply Robert Keller signature maple shell with 6 ply reinforcement rings. The drums is a 12" x 7", it has 8 chrome tube lugs, chrome 'stealth' type throw-off, and a die cast butt. The bearing edges are extremely smooth to allow for precise tuning and the inside of the shell is very smooth as well and has been treated with a tung oil finish. The snare bed is wide and deep to allow make tuning and sensitivity much more easy and versatile.
The finish is our purple marble finish with a black burst and a clear gloss urethane and is perfectly glass smooth.
This snare drum is extremely responsive, articulate and sensitive. The tone is very openand has an wide dynamic range for a 12" snare drum.
Wood snare drums of the same specs all have different characteristics; that's just what you get with wood. We meticulously treat every snare drum as an individual and make sure that the drum is in perfect condition for tuning, range and performance before leaving the shop.
